This Privacy Policy describes how Pinewick (the "archive"), operated from Str. Parcului 14, Cluj-Napoca, 400001, Romania, collects, uses, and protects information when you visit pinewick.eu.

1. Data We Collect

Pinewick does not operate user accounts, require registration, or collect personal data through active forms beyond the optional contact form on the About page. The following data may be collected automatically:

  • Server access logs — IP addresses, browser type, referring URL, and pages accessed, retained for up to 30 days for security and diagnostic purposes.
  • Cookie consent preference — A single browser localStorage key (cookie_consent) is written when you interact with the cookie banner. This does not leave your device.

2. Cookies

Pinewick does not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking scripts, or analytics platforms (such as Google Analytics) on this site. The only cookie-equivalent storage is the cookie_consent key described above, stored in your browser's localStorage — not in a network cookie. No data from this key is transmitted to our servers.

If you reject the cookie banner, no data whatsoever is stored on your device by this site.

3. Contact Form Data

When you submit the contact form on the About page, the data (name, phone if provided, email, and message) is transmitted directly to our editorial email address via your email client. This data is not stored on our servers beyond normal email retention. We use it only to respond to your enquiry.

4. Third-Party Content

Images on this site are served directly from Wikimedia Commons (upload.wikimedia.org). When your browser loads these images, Wikimedia may collect your IP address and browser data according to the Wikimedia Foundation Privacy Policy. We do not control this data collection.

External links to official park websites and reference sources open in new tabs. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

5. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

  • Access any personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Object to processing of your data.

6. Data Retention

Server access logs are retained for 30 days then deleted. Email correspondence is retained for up to 2 years for editorial record-keeping, then deleted.

7. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. We do not store payment data, passwords, or sensitive personal information.

8. Changes to This Policy

If material changes are made to this policy, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
